The Liberal Progressive & Patriotic Members Congress (LPPMC) was established in response to Nigeria's evolving political landscape, aiming to promote good governance, social justice, and national unity. Originally known as the Labour Party Patriotic Members Congress, LPPMC emerged as a collective of concerned citizens and political actors committed to revitalizing democratic values and fostering inclusive development across the nation.​

Over time, LPPMC has evolved into an independent socio-political movement, distinct from any political party, with a clear focus on advocating for transparency, accountability, and citizen empowerment. The organization has been instrumental in initiating grassroots mobilization efforts, policy advocacy, and civic education programs aimed at strengthening Nigeria's democratic institutions and processes.​
